Major Ross Davidson-Pilon was called into action to help deploy the Canadian Forces Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) to Sri Lanka.
Ross' aircraft carried emergency medical supplies, generators, and communication equipment.
The Hercules crew elected to carry 15,000 lbs. less fuel in order to airlift a larger payload. The reduced fuel capacity forced the aircraft to make five refueling stops on its three day mission to supply Canadian Forces in the Tsunami devastated region.
